Autumn Aspens, Second State
Color linocut reduction printed on BFK Rives wove paper.
Edition of 7 in this state. These impressions skip the first three colors used in the first state, print the next 8 passes as ghost prints, twice each, and proceed with the final two layers in a similar fashion to the first state.
Signed, titled, and numbered in pencil.
Comment from the artist: The east side of the Sierra Nevada gets overlooked much of the time. It is less flashy but very beautiful. In the fall the aspens stand in sharp contrast to the soft hues of the leafless stems of willow and cottonwood. The shrubby plants and grasslands have hues of purple, pink, yellow, and gold, which deliver a magical contrast to the whites of the aspens.
