Comment from the artist: Each winter large flocks of my winter birds congregate, moving through my Sierra forest from tree to tree in long, staggered lines. Bushtits, with their little titters and peeps, are easily heard. Robins and their distinctive voices come and go in waves, as well as bunches of warblers and waxwings. But all of them are best seen at sunrise and sunset as their seemingly endless parades stand out against the twilight.
